According to Ken Rosenthal, the Mets are close to signing catcher Henry Blanco.Blanco spent last season with the Padres, batting .235/.320/.382 in 67 games.
It's unclear if he will be with the big club next year, or if he's going to start out at Triple-A.
I hope a) this is on a minor league contact and b) that he'll be at triple-a next year.
